We conclude our Clos Pons red wine special with a very unique wine, not only because of its very characteristic bottle, but also because it is an exclusive wine of only 800 bottles in its first vintages.
With this, we want to ask a question: what can a wine tell us just by looking at its bottle? In the design of a wine, apart from its blend, one of the important parts is the design of the bottle and its labeling. That is why at Clos Pons we always dedicate time to detailing what the wine is like and what we want to convey with it before starting with the design of the bottle and label.
Our most special wine:
Clos Pons 812.
Unique, complex, powerful, and exclusive, Clos Pons 812 is a selection of the two best barrels from our south-facing terraces, where the Marcelán variety develops perfect ripening and potent concentration. Clos Pons 812 is a limited edition of 800 bottles from the 2012 vintage.
A wine with a long aging process in new 300-liter French oak barrels, with sublime toasting where red and black fruits appear, along with a long family of balsamic notes and intense minerality.
Clos Pons 812 is a fleshy, dense, and concentrated wine, with marked tannins, an exclusive combination of power and elegance.
Our winemaker, Martí Magriñà, gives us more details about this unique wine in the following video:
