Alges is a contraction of l'Albagés, the village where its vineyards originated. The name encapsulates the essence of the wine: origin, identity, and territory in its purest form. The estate sits between 500 and 700 meters above sea level, where the continental climate of Les Garrigues brings dry summers and cool nights that slow ripening and preserve natural acidity. The calcareous and stony soils result in low yields: concentrated grapes with tension and minerality. It is aged for nine months in 300-liter French and American oak barrels, the wood serving the fruit, never overpowering it. The result is a red wine with an intense and deep color, powerful aromas of ripe fruit, and elegant oak notes. On the palate, it is concentrated and characterful: with notes of ripe red fruit, licorice, and spices over a subtle mineral background, with a silky and persistent finish. A gastronomic red wine that naturally complements red meats, stews, select sausages, aged cheeses and intensely flavored Mediterranean cuisine
