Welcome to the new harvest
Oleotourism day in l’Albagés: a morning of harvesting, from the olive tree to the mill.
Every autumn, the first olives enter the mill and the new oil comes out green and intense, with the bitterness and spiciness that only exists during these weeks. We harvest early, while the olive is still green, because that is when the oil gains the most fruitiness and character. We invite you to experience this moment with us, from the inside.
We begin as we do at home to open the season: with a grilled farmhouse breakfast at the Mas, among olive trees, accompanied by Algés wine from Clos Pons. Afterward, we walk through the PONS Varietal Garden, where the family has been cultivating more than 300 varieties of olive trees since 2003, and hike up to the plot. There, we harvest the olives by hand.
From the plot, we head to the mill to see how the olive is transformed into oil. We conclude with a professional tasting of our oils, guided with a tasting sheet, and a glass of Sisquella, the white wine from Clos Pons made with Garnacha Blanca and Albariño.
