Clos Pons, wines with the essence of the territory

A family, ecological and innovative winery in the heart of Les Garrigues, under the DO Costers del Segre.

A project born from territory and tradition

Clos Pons is an extension of the Pons family's legacy, known for its excellence in olive oil production since the 1940s. We launched the winery in 2005 with the aim of capturing the essence of the region through authentic, organic wines. In 2011, we opened the winery in L'Albagés, a space designed to produce quality wines with respect for the environment and a contemporary vision.

Les Garrigues: a demanding landscape that makes us unique

Our 50 hectares of organic vineyards are located between L'Albagés and La Pobla de Cérvoles, at an altitude of between 500 and 700 meters. The extreme continental climate and the poor, calcareous, clayey soils require careful and patient work, but they provide us with exceptional raw materials. This gives rise to the minerality, fresh acidity, and concentration of our wines.

Native and international varieties with their own character

At Clos Pons, we work with varieties such as Garnacha Tinta, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Marcelan, Garnacha Blanca, Albariño, and Macabeo. Our cultivation is 100% organic, with sustainable practices that help us preserve biodiversity and express the authenticity of our environment.

Winemaking precision with a sense of the estate

At Clos Pons, our winemaking process is based on a clear principle: minimal intervention and maximum precision. We work with staggered harvests, separate micro-vinifications, and careful management of fermentation and aging to preserve the purity of the fruit and the identity of each plot.

Stainless steel provides thermal control, freshness and varietal precision; 300-liter barrels refine without being imposing; large-capacity foudres allow for a slow and balanced evolution, especially in aged white wines; and cement helps to build volume, tension and balance on the palate.

Estate wines, collector wines

Each Clos Pons wine originates from the same estate concept, but finds its own unique voice depending on the plot, the grape variety, and the aging process. The range is structured around estate wines, such as Jan, Sisquella, Alges, and Roc Nu, which clearly express the winery's style: freshness, precision, balance, and character.

From there, Clos Pons expanded to include wines with greater depth and aging potential, a collection of limited-edition wines born from specific plots and particularly favorable vintages. Wines such as Roc de Foc, Aura, Cingles, Pla del Tet, Malbec, and the 800 Series represent the most singular and precise expression of the project.
